FILTER MACHINE

A conventional filter machine, often simply called a coffee machine, can be found in almost every German household. But is the filter machine the perfect way to prepare coffee beans? We believe that with a filter machine at e.g. medium coarseness of grind is by no means a worse coffee than is possible with an expensive coffee machine, a fully automatic machine or by hand brewing with a ceramic and metal filter.

HOW YOUR COFFEE MACHINE WORKS

In order to get a coffee of full aroma in the coffee machine with a fine-mesh filter and clear water that is fully convincing in taste, you should use sufficient coffee powder. The less powder you use, the weaker the taste of the coffee will be. The filter machine lets the hot water drip on the coffee. It makes its way through the grated beans and the filter. A lot of water evaporates, but not every particle of powder can develop fully. The water builds up easily in the coffee machine or in the filter. This is deliberate, because this way the aroma can develop more widely in the water.

HOW MUCH COFFEE POWDER COMES INTO THE FILTER MACHINE?

Although the taste of the coffee beans depends primarily on the growing conditions of the plant and the gentle roasting, a filter that is too fine in the filter machine may also influence the aroma. As a coffee lover, you want to use a perfect filter, soft water and good beans. However, we have found that the amount of coffee powder has a greater impact on the result of the filter machine. For a round taste, it should be at least 60 grams per liter of water in the coffee machine. As long as the coffee has not run through the filter, you should not add any more water. If the coffee from the simple coffee machine becomes too strong, you can dilute it later.

BETTER AROMA BY DIFFERENT TYPE OF FILTER?

Every filter machine and all other types of preparation affect the aroma of the coffee and its taste. The coffee from the filter machine tastes different from how it develops the aroma, for example in the French Press. There is no better or worse in personal taste. We recommend: just experiment!
