Preparation

You love coffee and want only the best for your cup of enjoyment. That’s why you buy our Flatberry coffee and take a lot of time to select the perfect beans with the right grind. But in the end, in addition to cultivation and roasting, the preparation decides whether the Single Origin and Blends meet your taste. Incidentally, the preparation means the process from the grinding of the coffee.

French press, hand filter or fully automatic machine – the possibilities for preparing a coffee seem almost endless. Every coffee fan has the one preparation method or the one machine that prepares the best infusion for him. That is why we cannot tell you with absolute certainty which is the “best” or “ideal” preparation for our coffees.

FILTERING IN THE MACHINE OR BY HAND

Have you ever used a hand filter? We have various types of hand filters for you. Instead of filling the coffee powder into a filter and heating the water in a machine and automatically letting it slowly pour onto the powder, you hold the filter in your hand. The filter paper is slightly moistened beforehand. The water sweeps up the powder to an audible pop. Patience is required. Can you taste this work? Many coffee fans swear by it. Filter coffee from the machine is a more common preparation because you can easily work, read or do other things.

PREPARATION WITH FRENCH PRESS AND AEROPRESS

You don’t feel like filter coffee and the coffee from the Karlsbader Kanne is too flowery for you? Then try the French Press, also called the press stamp can. To do this, pour the coffee powder into the jug, pour it with hot water at about 94° Celcius and let the liquid draw for a short time. The press stamp then presses the powder down and the clear, dark coffee or espresso remains. With the AeroPress, air pressure acts on the powder and presses the liquid through a filter. Depending on the type of specialty coffee you like, mocha pots and espresso pots with fine grinding powder are worth trying. If you find your favorite preparation, you will also come very close to your personal perfect coffee according to your taste!
