GENTLE ROASTING PROCESS OR
Our Flatberry coffee roasters are naturally prepared with a little water, read out and turned for around 20 minutes while roasting in a roasting drum. At 200 degrees in the roasting process, the “first crack” takes place in the roasting drum. As a small coffee roaster, we take our time for the roasting process, since the roasting decides whether and how well the coffee tastes.
Coffee, on the other hand, is processed industrially in a quarter of the time. A long wash in the water after harvesting instead of gentle roasting guarantees clean beans. The roasting process for coffee that has been processed industrially takes around 5 to 10 minutes. During the roasting process, the coffee beans are heated to over 220 to 300 degrees and immediately cracked. The rest of the roasting is used for coloring. That is why the coffee powder, when processed industrially, is always black like espresso after the roasting process.
