Grind

If you want to order your Flatberry coffee, we ask you in the configurator for the desired degree of grinding. The degree of grinding determines the strength of the coffee after brewing as well as the method of preparation for which the coffee powder is suitable. You can also set this important key figure individually at home mills.

Do you prefer your coffee to be mild and soft, or strong in taste with lots of roasted aromas? In addition to the amount of water added, the degree of grinding also determines which flavors you can look forward to in your next cup. Coffee beans are ground to release their flavors into the water. The degree of grinding determines how well this works.

FINE GRIND FOR
ESPRESSO AND MOKKA

Instead of pouring hot water over coffee powder, the cold brew coffee method can be used to add coarse-grained, fine or even whole coffee beans directly into the cold water. This is easily possible with a French press, for example, and the preparation of this type of coffee can be easily observed. The stronger the taste of the coffee afterwards, the longer you have to let it stand on.

Coarse grind for mild coffee

If you want to enjoy a cup of mild coffee with many aromas of berries, jasmine and black tea, you should not choose fine powder but rather a coarse grind. The coffee beans are broken up less and form less space to release their taste. Around 500 to 800 particles are used in a cup of filter coffee, in the espresso there are around 3,500 particles, whereby real Turkish coffee has a grind of 1 to 30,000 coffee particles and is extremely strong.

COARSE GRADE FOR MELLOW COFFEE

We would be happy to grind the coffee for you at Flatberry. We depend on which grind you like and which device you use to brew the coffee. However, the mild specialties in particular benefit if you grind coffee beans yourself. The flavors evaporate over time. The longer the particles come into contact with air, the less taste the drink has. When grinding, you should consider from the start which degree of grinding is ideal for your desired preparation.
